My Philosophy

My motivations have always been person or people focused, no matter how a person identifies themselves (age, gender, race, academic or professional achievements, political affiliation, sexual orientation, religion, culture ect.) I believe I have something to learn from that person. Simply put ‘I have something to learn from you,’ this is where my learning theory and philosophy stems from.

All learning is through exploration and a good instructor will provide proper guidance of those moments. I strive to design creative learning experiences that streamline with current learning theories, applicable technologies and learner focused content.

As an Austin, Texas transplant to the western slope of Grand Junction, Colorado I am finding my footing in the mountains. I live with my partner, daughter, our dog, and rabbit.  In my free time I enjoy hiking in the Spring and Fall swimming, traveling, reading, and amateur baking. My most recent professional background is working in the non-profit sector and personal tutoring. My idea for instructional design came from brainstorming elements of things that I have enjoyed in my past professional experiences. Thus recently embarking on my MA in Instructional Learning and Technologies eLearning and Instructional Design, to take me down a new path.
